A citizens’ group has put together a petition in an effort to oust dozens of barges from where they’re being docked in the Lydia Ann Channel. In 2012, folks began complaining to Texas Parks & Wildlife and other agencies about loaded barges awaiting access to the port and inner harbor that were beached along the backside of San Jose Island damaging seagrass and promoting erosion.
